[Not fired. Contract ended May 20, 2012]: is a disclaimer attached to the original title of the University statement.
It was placed there by our own mods out of what I suppose is an abundance of caution to reflect the actual content of the statement itself.
While the University made clear his contract ended May 20th, it wasn’t until yesterday that they began to scrub any reference to him from their website.
They make no mention of any future contract renewal.
True. I have been working as an adjunct professor at a university for the past 5 years. For the first couple of years, I was on a contract basis. I signed a contract for each block of classes I would teach.
There were times when my contract expired, but it was always understood that I would continue to teach. I never considered myself to be unaffiliated with the university.
Since then, I've been taken on as an employee of the university.
