We “forgive” those who contritely ask for it. We can “let go” of our hurt or resentment for the rest.
Even Jesus showed us this when He said why we were to forgive seventy times seven. Forgiveness requires repentance.

This little lady would have to forgive Adam Smith if he drove through the line 490 times. I admit I’m not that good a person. And thank God nobody has done the same thing to me 490 times. I think I would have re-acted in a not to nice a way after only about 5 times or less.
