It wouldn't surprise me if true. I think folks can sense that Mitt Romney stands for Mitt Romney, just like any other liberal. He has no message. Running against something is fine for the small percentage of true believers. But to win, and change this country, he would have to stand for something different from what we have now. And his record suggests only shades of difference.

I suspect that Romney is doing a little rope-a-dope and waiting until after the convention.
The election laws limit his sending until he is the official candidate. Obama acts under the guise of the President is doing his job.
Romney has not been spending the way Obama has and may have more money to run ads closer to the election when Obama is low on funds.
