Is he keeping his Lt Governor job? I just had a flash why Dan Patrick thought it politic to get in a little ruckus with Ted Cruz - political theater. He knew Dewhurst was going down, and that he was going to have to deal with him in the Senate next session, and reckoned that it might be a good idea not to get too close to Ted right at this moment in political time.
He was elected in 2010 and, unless he resigns, will be Lt. Gov until 2014.
I'm not buying that. I know Dan and he was a a$$clown in his attempts to get Dewhurst elected. Especially the bogus radio add where Dan gets all over Cruz. What a crock.
Patrick has become what he has supposedly against all these years. I'm very disappointed in him. I'm fed up with him and I will never ever give him another penny. His ego has gotten so out of hand it is laughable.
If the reason Dan tried to torpedo the real conservative in the race was for senate politics... then he put establishment ahead of being a conservative... exactly what he used to champion against.
There were tons of problems with Dewhurst:
* The speaker of the house scandal
* In Houston, he had more campaign signs in democrat districts than he did in conservative ones
* He couldn’t bring himself to put forth a conservative agenda (mainly because he wasn’t one)
* His campaign commercials were cheap shots and persuaded me (along with a lot of other people) to vote against him.
Dan Patrick is in the same boat for me until he either apologizes for that commercial/interview, or is endorsed by Cruz. NPR treats conservatives better than what he did in that interview.
Happy Cruzday!
