And, an interesting difference:
The Mormon doctrine of Eternal Progression asserts that God was once a man,and that humans may become gods themselves. All of this is emphatically rejected by Islam, which views these teachings as polytheistic.
In Mormonism, salvation (eternal life) is given to almost everyone except the truly bad, but no one seems to know who the truly bad are. But eternal life simply guarantees you servitude on earth for enternity. To reach Godhood, you must earn it and accept their prophet.
In Islam, they have the "Scales" where if your deeds are 51% good and 49% bad, you pass.
In Christianity, there is nothing you can do to make up for the evil you have done. For if you knew it was good, then it is only what you should have done anyway. In Christianity the goal is perfection. "Be perfect, for I am perfect." "Be Holy for I am Holy." And the only way two ways to get there is to never sin or to be forgiven.
