When President Obama visited Poland last year, Prime Minister Donald Tusk told his American guest, We feel that you are one of us.
He didnt go as far today, at least not publicly, following a meeting with Mitt Romney. But former Polish president Lech Walesa, a winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, did give his seal of approval to the presumptive Republican presidential nominee.
I wish you to be successful because this success is needed to the United States, of course, but to Europe and the rest of the world, too, Walesa said through a translator. Gov. Romney, get your success. Be successful!
The endorsement of a U.S. presidential challenger, unusual in its boldness, was particularly eyebrow-raising in light of Walesas refusal to meet with Obama on his visit to Poland one year ago.
Walesa, the former leader of the Solidarity movement that helped bring down communism in Poland, cited scheduling conflicts at the time for why the two could not meet, though Walesas absence was widely interpreted in local news reports as a snub. ....
Some Poles are also miffed by Obamas reset policy with Russia, a longtime Polish nemesis, and his backing away from parts of a George W. Bush-era missile defense plan.

Does Walesa Embrace of Romney Mean Poland Dislikes Obama?
Yes Devin, that’s what it means. Dumba$$.
What’s not to dislike?
Obama’s a socialist. Poland dislikes socialism and all that it stands for.
Duh... they hate the bastard.
LLS
Don’t get too excited, anyone. ABC found an academic from America to speak for all Poles, and he said Walesa’s endorsement meant nothing.
Like. Duh.
The world doesn't revolve around Zer0.
Who was that "Karl Rove"?....
Its typical of this farce of a news network to seek to diminish a significant endorsement of a candidate they do not favor by finding a nobody academic on a college campus somewhere to extensively quote.
It means ol’ Lech knows a Communist when he sees one, and he does not like them.
Walesa endorses Romney after Obama snubs him
Two months ago, President Obamas team refused to host former Polish President and Nobel Peace Prize Lech Walesa at the White House, claiming that he was too political to participate in the Presidential Medal of Freedom ceremony.
The endorsement comes two months after Obama refused to host Walesa at the White House. The Polish government had requested that Walesa receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom that was posthumously awarded to Jan Karski, who served in the Polish Underground during World War II.
The Obama team refused. Former Polish Foreign Minister Adam Rotfeld received the award instead. The likelihood is that President Obama didnt want Walesa in the White House because Walesa has made critical remarks toward the presidents policies and in 2010 warned that the United States was slipping toward socialism, the Heritage Foundations Rory Cooper suggested at National Review Online.
Lech Walesa is everything the Kenyan is not...A Leader!!!!And he sees him for what he is A communist!!!
Without American and NATO support, there is little that can be done to prevent the Russians from overrunning the Baltic states and Poland, as was done by both the Tsars and the Communists.
Another example of the MSM protecting Obama.
President Obama bitchslapped Poland first.
Hey Devin, I’d say Obama’s decision to scrap the missal shield defense plan in Poland had more to do with it than Mitt Romney.
Yeah, I would think that the leaders of Poland would strongly be in the ABO camp.
Polish people, along with all the other Eastern Europeans that I know, hate Obama because they recognize he is a Communist.
Poland is one of two countries that truly amaze me. After being on the racetrack between two evil powers, Poland has survived and is prospering. South Korea is the other. Japan destroyed that nation; now look at them!
