As Romney Finishes Visit to Polish Tomb of Unknown Soldier, Press Screams, "What About Your Gaffes?"
Tuesday, July 31, 2012 | Kristinn

Reporters accompanying presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney yelled questions at Romney about his so-called mistakes and gaffes on his foreign trip as the candidate left the Polish Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Warsaw today.

The barrage prompted one of Romney's press aides, Rick Gorka, to lose his cool at reporters. Of course, those reporters are making the aide's profanity the story and not their own incredible rudeness.

A transcript of the incident via CNN's Jim Acosta in Warsaw:

CNN: "Governor Romney are you concerned about some of the mishaps of your trip?

NYT: "Governor Romney do you have a statement for the Palestinians?

Washington Post: "What about your gaffes?

NYT: "Governor Romney do you feel that your gaffes have overshadowed your foreign trip?"

CNN: "Governor Romney just a few questions sir, you haven't taken but three questions on this trip from the press!

Gorka: "Show some respect"

NYT: "We haven't had another chance to ask a question..."

Gorka: "Kiss my ass. This is a Holy site for the Polish people. Show some respect."

Acosta added: Moments later, Gorka told Jonathan Martin, a reporter for Politico, to "shove it." About a half-hour later, the aide called reporters to apologize.

The news media would be crucified if they treated Barack Obama this way (they never would, of course.) They should be crucified for their infantile, insulting behavior.

Bingo! We have a winner. The press is smelling an Obama defeat and they are crazed. I can’t wait til election night to watch them slit their wrists on CNN, NBC, and CNBC.

Perfect!

Email that to every major newsroom in the country. Lets them know we’re on to them and their biased game!

That’s a useful list. I copied it and saved it for myself.

“Should have been prepared for the answer”? Don’t flatter yourself. It was a question, not a trap.

“Wanted to shut you up”? You really ARE out in the weeds.

Willard’s not “my boy”; I supported Newt but I do prefer Willard over Obama.

I tried, but the military would not accept me due to a permanent skeletal problem due to a prior sports injury (so...up yours, with your “coward” blather).

Your loopy, paranoid attack/rant further illustrates your derangement. Revel in your mania or seek professional help. I have no interest in further interaction with someone so irrational and clearly imbalanced. Adios, sad sack.

Do you remember that Judy or Judith at CNN crying when GWB won? I need to find that tape, it was so awesome!

Where were these people when Obama was campaigning in all 57 States and talking about the need for people with asthma to have a Breathalyzer?

” They know we are on to them.

They have a virtual monopoly, and yes, they don’t care. Why should they?

The press guy has to work with those people. I don’t mind if he apologizes - don’t think it’s necessary - hope to God he doesn’t apologize for saying to show some respect. But. . . if he calls a couple of ‘em and says “I shouldn’a told you to kiss my ass,” then that’s ok.

I heard an anchor yapping about the so-called gaffes... saying Romney was trying to “look presidential.” Real demeaning stuff. Romney looks presidential. THAT is not the problem with Romeny.

They could try this approach. Keep some dog treats in their pockets.
When stupid questions are asked; throw the reporter a dog treat and say “down boy”.

I know it couldn't happen, but it would be nice to see.

I worked on security staff at a festival once upon a time. I was guarding the backstage gate and told some folks “I’m sorry , you can’t go back there without a pass.” My supervisor was nearby and he said “Ichabod, never apologize for doing your job.” I took it to heart and do my best to avoid apologizing - even if I made a mistake - if I did it in the act of doing my job to the best of my ability. I still have to do it sometimes, but not often. I don’t like it because it concedes the point and can result in consequences down the road.

If I were Romney’s press guy, I would begin each response to the media with, “I know what your are...”
