Your Biblical reference has been on the forefront of my mind regarding this matter as well. How surprised can we really be if one morning we wake up to news of D.C., NYC, or San Fran being consumed by a fiery blast. God will not be mocked without recompense. I just hope I and my family are far enough away from the blast zone.
“I just hope I and my family are far enough away from the blast zone.”
Romans 8:35-39 (NIV)
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36 As it is written:
For your sake we face death all day long;
we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.[a]
37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[b] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord”
Philippians 1:21
“For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. “
2 Corinthians 5:8
“We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.”
Job 13:15
“Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him:”
