Woah: Elizabeth Warren Could Deliver Keynote Address at DNC

Well, according to the Boston Globe, that's the latest rumor.

The crowds at political conventions feast on partisan red meat, and they could end up with a bellyful when the Republicans and Democrats meet back to back beginning late next month.

An Obama campaign official confirmed to the Globe Wednesday that US Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren is being considered as a possible keynote speaker for the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, N.C.

It would give the Massachusetts Democrat a national platform for her high-profile race against Senator Scott Brown, the same launch pad that Barack Obama used to vault into the public consciousness when he was an Illinois state Senator and was tapped to be the keynote speaker at the 2004 party meeting in Boston.

Other than the presidential and vice presidential nomination acceptance speeches, the keynote address is considered the gathering’s prime speaking opportunity.

Warren, not unexpectedly, is staying mum on the subject, refusing to say publicly whether or not she’s being considered for the prestigious speaking engagement.

[Snip]

As the Charlotte Observer points out -- and as you probably remember -- a charismatic, up-and-coming Illinois state Senator named Barack Obama gave the keynote address at the 2004 Democratic National Convention. Four years later, of course, he became the 44th President of the United States. In other words, if Elizabeth Warren was chosen to deliver the keynoter this year, it would not only help her defeat incumbent Senator Scott Brown (R-MA) by, among other things, increasing her name recognition, but also indicate party elders genuinely believe she is a rising progressive star.

The few clips I’ve seen of Warren speaking had me lunging for the mute button. Everything I’ve seen from her is shrill and angry.

That said, it might be crazy like a fox to have her speak. Warren is exactly the kind of polarizing, radical voice that will fire up the left-wing base of the Democratic Party. As others have pointed out, that’s pretty much what Obama is hanging his hopes on - base enthusiasm - to win in November.

There is also the possibility that the high profile of being a keynote speaker will help her back home. Being ‘important’ enough to deliver a convention keynote could swing a few votes her way in Mass.

Now, the flip side to all of this is that unless she pulls off the master (mistress?) of all phony-it-ups during the speech, those not on the far left are going to see just more evidence of how radical both she and the administration she’s stumping for really are. You can bet that Scott Brown’s camp would be ready within hours to take her to task for whatever nonsense she babbled on the stage.

Damn. Humor just isn’t funny anymore. However, I have seen some Hopis and Apaches running fry bread stands here.

In the meantime, Sarah Palin will not be allowed in side the building at the GOP-E convention.
She is just too polarizing, ya know.

It will be a great opportunity to expose this phony b-t-h’s lies—her false claim to be of native American descent and the fact that she used those claims to get racial preferences to which she was not entitled—to the voters of Massachusetts and the rest of America.

And her connection to the latest sub-prime mortgage assault on consumers and the housing market:

http://spectator.org/archives/2012/07/27/and-you-thought-the-housing-cr

And let's not forget her self-professed pride in being the "intellectual foundation" for Occupy Wall Street.

Her demeanor is smug and supercilious, and her face puts one in mind of a certain tv star (Miss Piggy). Whenever she appears on my screen, I reach for the clicker.

She is the philosophical equivalent to Michelle Obama (but lacks the "toned arms").

She's an ideal choice for the Dem's keynote address.

“This would indeed be a gift of generational proportions on exposing themselves.”

Do you think they would build her a teepee?

There would be more sound bites than the Republicans could wrap commercials around.

The only other thing I can think of potentially “worse” would Be two hours of Pelosi, or maybe Dean having another Tourette’s “attack”.
