If you dont know how rare it is for a politician to refuse the temptations of corruption when doing so means significant financial, social, political and even family riskwhile accepting it would bring significant personal gainthen you really know nothing whatsoever about politics.
By all means, enlighten us lesser mortals who 'know nothing'.

Has nothing to do with any superior intellect.
We’re talking about something obvious—the fact that politics is corrupt.
It doesn’t take a superior intellect to know that politicians are far more likely to be cheaters than to be honest men and women.
So the point here is: when it comes to the two most important qualities for a politician to have—honesty and courage—Sarah Palin has more than the vast majority of all politicians.
