A Romney campaign official has blasted Boris Johnson, the London Mayor, as an eccentric, odd fellow whose public attack on the Republican candidate was unbecoming and an indication of his bias towards President Barack Obama. The official said that Prime Minister David Camerons wisecrack about it being harder to stage an Olympic Games in London than in the middle of nowhere an apparent reference to Salt Lake City, where Romney oversaw the 2002 Winter Olympics was probably appropriate, albeit awkward and unfortunate for Romney Johnson on the other hand lived up to his reputation as an eccentric, odd fellow. It was unbecoming to attack Governor Romney in that way. There really was no need. But Johnson made it clear in 2008 that his vote would have gone to Obama.

Bathhouse comraderie. The want us to be just as f****d as them.
Maybe Romney was right. http://www.itv.com/news/west/update/2012-07-27/breaking-fire-at-weymouth-pavilion/
It is a funny tiff in any case.
Guess the Romney campaign wanted to out who it was giving the quotes blasting Romney in London. Works for me. The Romney outfit is not a wimp operation.
Mitt might very well be right, but that’s not the point. You don’t always have to say what’s on your mind, especially if you are in no position to do anything about it. And even if people agree with you, they tend to resent you if you go to their country and criticize them.
Thanks for the correction as to “disconcerting” vs. “concerned.” I think Mitt was substantively correct (and that Brits are overreacting for political benefit) but still should have kept quiet about domestic UK affairs. JMO.
It's better to keep your mouth shut and let them think you're an idiot, than to open it and remove all doubt.
Channeling Ann Richards: they just can't hep it.
1: The Guardian and some other UK papers hate America's guts.
2: Misery loves company. They wish us disarmed, spied on, and with an NHS Euthanasia system.
So he’s biased toward Barry. Does he vote in America?
The Olympics are domestic UK affairs?
Link is NG. Link doesn’t work even from the home page.
right...but if he blamed it on Bush everyone in the media would be praising him....
Leftist Brits can bugger off - its not their election, and not their president.
Frankly, Romney needs to point out more often what is wrong with the socialists in Great Britain and everywhere and he has.
Romney pointed out that prime munster of cheese was as weird as his hairodo.
These Brits have a major problem, and; we should let them fall on their ass. They could not even stop George Soros from breaking the Bank of England.

What a clown.

Point taken. If something like Munich were to happen, it certainly would not be a “local Munich matter.”
But it’s going to be taken that way by the Brits. (Not that I’m agreeing with them.)
It’s nice to see Mitt “Whatever You Want To Hear; Just LIKE ME” Romney having the guts to piss off his hosts, I’ll give him/ you that much.
But I so fear Obama’s somehow winning this thing, that I’d prefer Mitt just smile and wave, at least when overseas and being asked about the local security.
Another way of putting it is: Romney is a better wordsmith than this. He could have lightly addressed the same issue with the same substance, yet had it SOUND like a compliment. E.g., “I read about the private security team having some issues, but I’ve since also heard about the swift response to make things right.” Blabbity blab.
