Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell has emerged as one of three Republican officeholders who political handicappers say have the most potential to unify the party and boost the fortunes of GOP standard-bearer Mitt Romney as a running mate in November.
While Mr. Romney has revealed little about his vice-presidential search, Mr. McDonnell, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal and Florida Sen. Marco Rubio are widely seen as reliable economic and social conservatives at a time when the party faces the possibility of factional divisions heading into next months convention in Tampa, Fla.
The Virginia governor, experienced analysts note, is a staunchly pro-life Catholic with a fiscally conservative reputation and no known opposition among evangelicals, whose votes have been vital to GOP electoral success and many of whom are skeptical about Mr. Romneys Mormon religion.
The Virginia governor is considered a competent, and at times engaging, speaker not likely to upstage Mr. Romney unlike, say, more charismatic figures such as Mr. Rubio or New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.

Most Impressive. So why didn’t I get pinged to it? :[
OMGoodness! I was moving some names around on my ping list, and you somehow got deleted. It was an accident, believe me! I was wondering why you were ignoring my pings, LOL! I shall reinstate you immediately, of course!
It truly is a great one. At that age, he reminded me of a young Orson Welles, so it’s particularly appropriate as well.
Then why do you keep trying to do it?
How about you let Jim tell people when they are no longer welcome here. You can kick people off your site.
“How about you let Jim tell people when they are no longer welcome here.”
And he He does so quite effectively. I have just been helping bring them to his attention. FR is NOT a Pro-Romney website. Jim Robinson has made that crystal clear. When I catch folks trying to rah, rah Romney.....I call them out for it and they eventually show they are not just ABO but Pro-Romney and get quite adamant about it. Then Jim Robinson shows them the door.
Jim Robinson, in my opinion, is helping to start a movement to rid the GOP of RINOs and eliminate the GOPe’s control of the party. I’m 100% behind what he is doing. Too many dinosaurs left of FR are opposing this. I think they are wrong and need to leave IF they can’t get behind the direction Jim Robinson is moving the forum. There are plenty of incoming folks that also back Jim.
Like I have said. Jim Robinson has been crystal clear on what FR is about. Some “oldtimers” on this forum seem to think they don’t have to follow the ground rules laid down by Jim. Posting pro-Romney material is violating his rules, as I understand them.
IF folks will stop posting pro-Romney nonsense, then they won’t get zotted. I believe that is what you are really upset about...one of your chums thought they were immune and could post whatever they chose, and they found out otherwise. They got zotted, and now you are ticked.
Where did you get the idea that I was really upset?
It's just that, ever since I was a kid, I always enjoyed laughing at the kids who run and tell teacher when they think somebody's in BIG trouble.
Now go tell on me.
“Now go tell on me.”
Certainly, as soon as you violate the groundrules Jim Robinson has set out. Bad mouthing me does not fall under that.
Campaign for Romney on FR, even indirectly, and I will let the owner know then.
Since it appears that isn’t your intention, and I really need to get sleep for tommorrow. I will simply bid you Good Night.
And a good night to you as well.
