Selling Out Sarah Palin

It hadn't been two decades since the feminist movement of the '60s when Walter Mondale announced Geraldine Ferraro as his running mate in 1984. Five years after Britain elected Margaret Thatcher as its first female prime minister, Americans also welcomed the idea of a woman holding a significant position of power.

The late Ferraro was an educated woman. She served her own jurisdiction as district attorney and went on to win a seat in the House of Representatives in 1979. Four years later, Mondale took a chance on her. She made history as the Democrat Party's first female vice presidential nominee.

In their campaign against Reagan/Bush in '84, the Mondale/Ferraro ticket wound up losing in a landslide. Nevertheless, it could be argued that Ferraro's significance in the race carried what energy the ticket had. They won 34 million American votes -- 40% of the popular vote.

Though the results were disappointing, Democrat operatives and talking heads managed to move forward without consistently dragging Ferraro's name through the mud.

I intend to send a note to the Romney campaign that I was going to send them a significant donation until they stiffed Sarah Palin for a speaking slot at the convention. I will reconsider after the convention, depending on what I hear.

But despite doing significantly better as a candidate than Ferraro ...

Ferraro was a whinger. I remember her first solo appearance as the chosen one.

Back then there were reporters that were real reporters. They started asking real questions, and Geraldine burst out with "Why are you doing this to me? You're supposed to be on my side!"

Ferraro was mob (yes, triple entendre) thinking. Palin thinks normal and tries to do right.

I no longer view Sarah Palin as mainstream Republican; I believe that she’s an outsider and will stay that way. After what she did to some Republican good old boys as Gov., I don’t think that the Republican establishment would want her in their country club.

She’s doing just fine where she is. She can throw her influence at any candidate she wishes and we will listen to her. If there ever is a viable third party, be it electable or influential, it will start with Sarah Palin.

This is worth repeating and I could not agree more!

Sarah has stepped off the GOP Plantation and I think we should all follow suite.

Love that picture of Sarah and Todd by they way.

GO SARAH!

In the Clinton era, Hill and Bill and the democrats battled factual criticism of the administration with their whining pleas to “End the politics of personal destruction”.

Of course, the laughable irony is that the vicious personal attack as the stock in trade of the democrat party.
Their standard campaign is founded on attempts to destroy competition with distortion, slander, lies, and any other means that will work for them.

They are happily aided and abetted by the mainstream media who do much of their dirty work for them.

Today we see that strategy being pursued every day against Mitt Romney.

In 2008 the liberals’ attacks on Sarah were so effective that they pretty much destroyed any chance for her to ever be a viable candidate again.

As a result of their campaign of personal destruction, many people feel they know a lot about Sarah and they do not like what they know.

The problem is that just about everything they know is wrong.

They have been so brainwashed by the media that they do not take the time to actually listen to what she says or educate themselves on her real positions.

These are the same people who consider themselves smart and educated and look down on Sarah and other conservatives, whom they consider ignorant, uneducated and close-minded.

As in all things concerning liberals, they smugly project their own failings and criminality on others and cannot see how arrogant, un-ethical, mean-spirited and ill-informed they themselves really are.

Still amazes me. Here’s the GOP, confronted with an energizing human dynamo that brought out thousands upon thousands at rallies/speeches; more thousands waiting out in sub-freezing temps in lines at book-signings. The kind of energy not seen in the Party since the days of Reagan. The response by the GOP elders? To side with the elite-liberal-media complex in throwing bricks at her, trashing her family, and doing everything imaginable to diminish her power and influence.

Final upshot? For me? After three decades as an unwavering Republican voter, I have lost just about every shred of faith, respect and trust I once had for the GOP.

The masters of the media lies have damaged Palin considerably; she can do a lot more damage on her own (especially with white women - the ones that DON’T take their cues from Saturday Night Live) than she can if portrayed as one of the leading faces of the anti-Barack coalition.

I like Palin, but she’s been “Borked” by the “mainstream”.

Good article.

Palin has no ill-will towards the Republican Party, she just wants them to remain truly conservative.

But many in the GOP have attacked her viciously. Does she threaten them? Do they want to suck up to the MSM? I don’t know exactly, but it stinks.

Sarah is great. Best person to step forward on to the stage in 2008. She is attacked, marginalized, criticized.
It is my opinion, McCain did not intend to win, and he and his minions, did their best to shut her down in the later part of the campaign. She would have won it for them, and they did not want that. STUPID! BAD PLAN!

Sarah has handled her life well. She still has two young children at home, plus a teen age daughter. Bristol's son too.. So it is easy to see it is not the best time for her to run for President. So many are so quick to look for the worst and imagine weakness of character or resolve. I see it differently. We are fortunate to have her and her voice and her coming future in politics.

God gave us a candidate and we are foolish enough to buy the progressive liberal lies and innuendos regarding her. Sarah has had a busy 3 years, we know about, and I for one bless her and pray God to keep her safe and well.

Hopefully we can vote for her next time.

One day... figuratively speaking... I will dance on the grave of the gop/e. Sarah is the only republican politician that I still trust.

On Hannity the other night they were discussing Sarah not speaking. One of the guest started to point out that Sarah had already rented a large venue just five minute walk from the convention center...Hammity nearly fell out his seat interupting her and trying to keep the guest quiet....Hannity knows something...

Plus when Sarah was asked about it she poo pood the question and said they will have an announcement shortly.....Well Chris Christy is the keynote speaker...and Sarah has already been vetted, attacked by the MSM and exonerated....have the rest?

Think about it!
