This may seem like a relatively minor skirmish in the culture wars but I see it as a serious infringement, if not an attack on our First Amendment rights of freedom of speech and the practice of religion. The Chick-Fil-A CEO honestly answered a direct question from a religious publication and simply affirmed his belief in the biblical standard of what constitutes a marriage; one man, one woman. He was not making a declaration of antipathy toward those who chose to engage in homosexual behaviors. His restaurants do not discriminate against 'gays'. As I understand it, Chick-Fil-A not only serves anyone - including 'gays' - but also employs 'gays'. There is simply no basis for the PC rubbish being heaped on Chick-Fil-A establishments by grandstanding politicians.

This attempt to bully a man who simply holds a biblical view of what constitutes a marriage in the eyes of God by attempting to harm his business and make him a pariah is outrageous. Chicago is a sewer of political corruption and rapidly becoming the murder capital of America. Yet it's politicians want to use the PC BS that holding a Biblical-based view of what constitutes marriage is akin to the worst form of racism and deserving of severe punishment (financial, in this case) is simply unacceptable. Sure, it may be legal and we all know that taking a stand, even obliquely, as the Chick-Fil-A CEO did can have consequences but this bullying by the thugs that pose as political 'leaders' in corrupt Chicago have taken it too far.

I dare them to try this on Farrakhan and The Nation of Islam, who are adamantly opposed to same-sex marriage. If the Nation of Islam (Black Muslims) can stand up for their beliefs and push back on politicians who oppose them with PC twaddle, why can't Christians do the same? Political Correctness (which has a distinct Orwellian ring to it) is being used to weaken and eventually destroy traditional beliefs and values (and their practice). We cannot simply sit back, cluck our tongues, shake our heads then go back to watching a ball game and forget about it, until the next outrage. This cannot stand.

It IS a serious infringement! We are at a point in this nation in which the loudest voices are those calling the policy and statement made by this salt of the earth, epitome of decency, God fearing Christian man, who hates no one, and walks the walk, not just talks the talk, CONTROVERSIAL! His views are anything but controversial, the ARE the mainstream values of this country, and this slander will not stand.

I hope, as one person said here, this is their jump the shark moment. Especially these mayors, bill of attainder much?
