Cagney had a blast making that film. Maybe the single greatest comedic performance ever in a movie....Funniest line, was when he said to Schlemmer, "Well now you're back in the SS....small salary."

20th Century Fox led the studios of the Fifties with finding a song for a film that would help market it. Tom Lehrer made fun of the whole trend in his comment about "The Ten Commandments Cha-Cha-Cha". But Alfred Newman and the guys at the Fox Music Department always managed to find something to fit the bill.
