It would haved been better for Romney to say “the British people stood alone against the Nazi war machine in the early years of World War II. Whatever problems the Olympics present, they can handle.”

That was then, this is now.

I don’t think either America or Britain could do what they did then now.

You do know that the British have London on “Severe Threat” of terrorism during the games? You do know that 35 items that looked like a bomb or a gun got by Heathrow Security last week. We also have one of the new 1200 Military Security officers stating that he has has no training and that he wouldn't know a bomb from a bulldog. All mitt did was to state the facts as the British government itself has said it has addressed. Now I despise mitt but this is just a counter attack to mitt's making hay of the Winston Churchill Bust controversy today. obamao pissed on the Brits... they know it and so does mitt.

Fabulous comment! That is EXACTLY what he should have said, and how he should have said it. Too bad you’re not on his team, writing this stuff!

from the Guardian:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2012/jul/26/mitt-romney-london-olympics-gaffe-live?newsfeed=true

Mitt Romney made all kinds of news for saying and doing the wrong things in the first full day of his trip to London. The trip was meant to make him look presidential. In the apt summation of John Podhoretz, it made him look like Mr. Bean. The Romney show continues tomorrow, when he attends the opening ceremonies of the Olympic Games. Should be fun!

• British politicians David Cameron and Boris Johnson took umbrage at Romney’s remarks and ridiculed Romney in front of tens of thousands of people, respectively. We can’t believe we just typed that sentence.
