[A] Chicago official has pledged to block the fast-food chain from opening in his district amid a heated national debate over the place of the gay marriage debate in corporate America.

The company’s offense? President Dan Cathy’s comments . . . that he is “guilty as charged” of defining marriage [traditionally]. In other words, he’s not in favor of gay marriage.
“If you are discriminating . . . I don't want you in the 1st Ward," Moreno told the Tribune . . . “Because of this man’s ignorance, I will now be denying Chick-fil-A’s permit to open a restaurant in the 1stWard.”
He also added that Cathy’s comments were “bigoted, homophobic.”
Chicago’s mayor, Rahm Emanuel, followed suit with his own statement: "Chick-fil-A values are not Chicago values. They disrespect our fellow neighbors and residents. This would be a bad investment, since it would be empty."

Last week, Chick-fil-A issued a statement saying it would “leave leave the policy debate over same-sex marriage to the government and political arena." The company added that it has always aimed to “treat every person with honor, dignity and respect -- regardless of their belief, race, creed, sexual orientation or gender.”
The reaction has been intense:
Boston Mayor Thomas Menino told the Boston Herald that he no longer wanted Chick-fil-A in his city.
Muppets creator Jim Henson Co. backed out of a partnership with the chain to make kids meals toys.
Protestors are planning to congregate outside locations tonight; participating same-sex couples will publicly embrace.

Meanwhile, Gizmodo claims Chick-fil-A created a fake Facebook account to raise sympathy on social media. . .

Saw this. Some “progressives” i know on Facebook are trumpeting this letter.
Folks, there is no reasoning with people like that. We may very well end up in a civil war over what the progressives are trying to do with our society.
Menino will have to face God one day and explain his actions.
I hate Chicago and would not spend more dime more then I have to in that city. They are better off not providing a dimes worth of revenue to that evil criminal ridden city.(And I am just talking about the administration and not the gangs)
CFA CEO used the phrase, “guilty as charged.” He knew the legal term would be appropiate; in Obamatollah’s America it is now considered a criminal act to think for oneself - and a felony to espouse traditional Judeo-Christian values...

You have said it: without any glossing over of the brutality of what their stance really is.
Chick-fil-A has revealed its intolerance. Therefore it must be eradicated. Such intolerance cannot be tolerated. Smash them in the face! Show your respect for diversity. “If you are discriminating . . . I don’t want you in the 1st Ward,” Moreno stated. Er. Does anyone see the irony here. Looks to me like Moreno is discriminating against Chick-fil-A. He probably suffers from a severe case of homophobiaphobia.
I went to Chick-Fil-A on Monday and Tuesday. My daughter is stopping in tonight to pick up another tasty Spicy Chicken sandwich.
I agree. Maybe the rest of us should demand Dunkin’ Donuts leave our areas because the mayor of Boston is a facist.

MUPPETS TASTE LIKE CHICKEN!
There is an old saying that when someone is making a fool of themselves, get out of the way so you don’t get any on you.
With that said, just an anecdotal observation today. I had to drive to view a meeting location and it was already after noon, 12:35, and thinking about getting something for lunch. I knew a Chick-fil-A was on the way so I decided to stop at the drive through.
Upon entering the parking lane to get to the drive thru, the line was already backed up but moving much faster than the typical burger joints. While waiting in line, I noticed that every parking spot was taken, and this was much larger than most and some people were parking outside of their lot.
The Arby’s next door had only about a third of their spaces taken and nobody was in the drive thru.
When I drove back by the same location after my meeting at about 2:00, I took note that the parking lot was still full and two vehicles were at the drive thru order station.
The irony is not lost on me. “Tolerance or we will smash you, exclude you, ridicule you, hunt you down.” In other words, Tolerate, no, CELEBRATE us, or we will repay you with your worst intolerant nightmare. Love us or we’ll kill you.
So is AIDS............I'll take the chicken sandwich.
