Let me fix that for you:

It can be is being compiled by whoever has the time/money to do such things.

The question that is the heart of this is: WHY?

Why would anyone care enough to collect, store and evaluate information on EVERY person? Most of us are quite mundane if we are honest about ourselves, and it seems like a colossal effort from a government that claims it can't track illegals.

So, WHY collect info on every American?

That, fellow FReeps, is the question to ponder.

No one spends that kind of dough for a benign project.

Well, do you think they collect it and only look into the information that could be used to harm the country? Is it worth it for the gov’t to pay a lot in order to protect the country? I think so. That way, they maintain their power. If this happens, BOTH parties are involved. This info wouldn’t be used to round up gun owners or hippie liberals.
