I knew someone like that (married and then “came out” later), and it has to do with how they are raised and the timeframe (1980’s and before). Many homosexuals try to overcome their instincts and proceed to try to live a normal life throughout high school and college, dating and even marrying. But eventually they become so depressed from hiding their feelings, they have no choice but acknowledge what they feel, get divorced and try to rebuild their lives.

Impossible to know for sure. I've been acquainted with a few women who have lesbian partnerships that were previously married and had families. Makes you wonder what the marriage breakup was like.

I just kind of shrug. It's none of my business as long as it's not in my face.
