Actually, they keep trying and failing. Gun control is a toxic issue for Democrats. That's why Carvile is out telling them to quit pushing it.
Actually, they keep trying and failing. Gun control is a toxic issue for Democrats. That's why Carvile is out telling them to quit pushing it.
Those are also the classic choices in real life as well. Just look at what every police department uses.
“A static defense is slow suicide.” - Napoleon Bonaparte
“Hit ‘em where they ain’t” - General Douglas MacArthur(PBUH)
(”Bastion after bastion, considered by the Japanese Army impregnable and barring the way, had been by-passed and rendered impotent and useless.”)
As soon as an incident like this shooting happens, liberals immediately launch an offensive in support of gun control. Conservatives react by defending, which they should. But in the long run, you can’t just fight defensively and win. You must take the battle to the enemy.
But liberals are already fighting on the subject of gun control. To attack them in that direction, when they are ready for it, is to waste resources. Instead, we need to hit them where they are not ready, to change the argument to one of our choosing, that they are not prepared to defend.
In this situation, the argument needs to be that, once duly tried and convicted and sentenced to death, the Aurora shooter needs to be executed without the endless delay typical for murderers.
This is a weak point for liberals, and one where conservatives can hit them *hard* right now, when the Aurora event is foremost in everyone’s mind.
Not too many people know that congress can direct the federal judiciary as to what its jurisdiction is, and how they handle the appeals process.
If there is a Republican majority in both houses of congress after the next election, they could seriously speed up the death penalty appeal process.
They could say to the judiciary: “You can and should hear death penalty appeals, but they must automatically jump to the head of your docket (no multi-year delays before hearings), no significant delays during hearings, and you may only consider serious trial error and major constitutional issues. You may NOT interfere with HOW states choose to execute the condemned or other extraneous issues. The death penalty, in and of itself, is neither cruel nor unusual.”
If conservatives did this, it would rattle liberals down to their fillings. Every time they mentioned guns, it could be brushed aside as unconstitutional, then they could be counterattacked on the death penalty. It would be unexpected, and conservatives could score major points before they could slap together a response.
Two things:
1. Not just the drugs, but the daily/ weekly murders & crimes committed (in the vast majority) by gangbangers & illegals & in urban areas with a high concentration of minorities. (Look what happened in Chicago just a few weeks ago.) They coddle & protect these groups of people like the parents of “darling children who get away with murder”. The majority of these “statistics” are the result of these daily occurrences & the people who *prevent* these crimes from occurring because they defended themselves & others who were targets. Proportionally, these mass murders are all but a drop in the bucket.
Why are we so cowed by political correctness that we aren’t pointing out the elephant in the room?
2. At least 2 generations of people have now grown up on a steady diet of movies & videos; immersed in violence exactly like Columbine or Virginia Tech or James Holmes (not to discount the men who terrorized the Washington DC area for *weeks*)? What do any of us expect?
This is sick stuff. Where is their “outrage” with that? Where are the “sociologists” on this one? (Obviously, rhetorical questions. Problem> Reaction> Solution. The “culture” promoted by the left is the very justification for the loss of America’s freedom.)
It was only a TV show, but it made fun of the National Socialists i.e the Left.
Thank you.
Waking up the people - This was reported after the Theater shooting...
Denver gun sales up
Gun dealers and firearms instructors in Denver are reporting a significant increase in business in the days since the July 20 theatre shooting in Aurora, Colo., which killed 12 people, according to the Denver Post.
Jake Meyers, an employee at Rocky Mountain Guns and Ammo, told the Post July 23 was “probably the busiest Monday all year.”
The Colorado Bureau of Investigation says that between Friday and Sunday, it approved background checks for 2,887 people wanting to purchase a firearm. That’s a 43 percent increase over the previous weekend.
Their numbers are wrong. There are actually 43 states that do not prohibit open carry, if we include Oklahoma and do not incude California, which is very restrictive.
Because if you can’t communicate they won’t listen to you! Get that?
