Peace will have to live in many more Chicagoans’ hearts before it will start to be seen in the city. (The same could be said of just about any large, declining US city.)
In the interim, a significant alteration of the ease with which the law-abiding might obtain the means to effect self-defense is very much in order - and, yes, would significantly CUT the incidence of homicide and other crimes of violence, as it has done everywhere it’s been tried.
