It’s in the public interest to let law enforcement do its job and lock this perp up permanently. It’s not in the public interest to turn it into a circus like the O.J. trial or the Zimmerman case.
The public and the family will know all there is to know in due time. We want this done right, and our curiousity simply does not count.

Tell it to the Terry and Zapata families. Oh, and do we yet know all there is to know about Oklahoma City? How about Waco and Ruby Ridge?
That is a presumption that is completely unwarranted - particularly if there is any third-party involvement in this crime.
There are always a large number of false leads in a serious conspiracy crime and innocent people will all too easily be targeted by lynch mobs or vigilantes based on incorrect data. It is probably best if the police keep their working lists confidential for some time to come.
However, a scheduled release of verified information had better be part of the plan for the follow-on investigation into the massacre.

I agree. I live about 45 minutes north of where this happened. Lived here since 1975 and don’t think the governments here have been co-opted to that extent. At least not yet. Also, I don’t think there’s a conspiracy to cover-up. At least not yet.
I can see why the police don’t want the media hounding their witnesses, either before or after contacting them. Who in their right mind is going to talk freely to the police if they know the national media is going to instantly descend on them like the seven plagues of Egypt, publicizing their home addresses and phone numbers and the like?
I say let the police do their jobs. We’ll find out soon enough what happened exactly and why. (Based simply on probabilities, my personal opinion is that the killer was simply a science nerd who contracted adult-onset schizophrenia, and was pre-programmed for extreme violence as a consequence of a lifetime of exposure to extremely violent video games and other violent media “entertainment”.)
