Therefore I pronounce the sentence of death as provided for under the laws of the State of Colorado, may God have mercy on your soul."

Then Chief Oates puts the barrel of his service revolver to the back of Holmes' head, pulls the trigger, and blasts his brains out.

And I'll bet there would not be a jury anywhere in Colorado that would find Chief Oates 'guilty' of murder.

Watching NBC Nightly News Sunday, the gun control effort coming out of this may have already fizzled. You could tell NBC’s heart wasn’t in it, polls don’t support it and mostly they just showed the typical blowhards. If this was some kind of operation, they wasted many lives for nothing.
