I’m glad you posted this story. I believe the gag order may have been placed because they were juveniles, I’m not sure. I’m not sure if there is a law in place to keep juveniles names from being public.

But, the charges were brought down from felonies to misdemeanors. She was shamed by her photos being publicized, now the boys want to be kept secret. If I am angry about this, I can’t imagine what she feels.

The whole situation regarding justice is lacking terribly. I am really proud of this girl. She needs to fight back and have that gag order pulled. She needs to feel free to speak about this crime and the lack of justice by giving these boys a slap on the wrist. The defending attorney should be ashamed by bringing these charges up against her. Honestly, I don’t know how some of these attorney’s live with themselves.

Keeping juveniles' names secret is a rule that applies to courts and other officials. It doesn't apply to victims as far as I know. I don't know what authority a judge has to forbid a victim to speak about the crime against them.
