Usually when something like this happens the parents are always in complete denial but not this mother, she knew right away with “Yeah you have the right guy.” Not an ounce of surprise from her

This likely occurred when they contacted her, attempting to confirm his ID through her, describing him, his place of residence, car etc, with her likely saying, Yes, that's him.

This is likely no big deal.

Sounds to me like a quote that could easily have been taken out of context. If they gave details on his address, school, physical description, etc., she could have been basing the positive identification on that. And the "you have the right person" was probably referring to her, i.e., yes, she really is his mother. I don't think she was admitting his guilt, but the parents appear to be intelligent, rational people and might not attempt to deny reality just because they didn't like it.
