The “black” term here refers to something analogous to “black ops”, and not skin color. This Occupy Black Bloc are the shock troops of the Occupy (wherever) movement. They are the ones setting the fires, marching with the Guy Fawkes masks, and organizing the flash mobs that overwhelm retail establishments.
The Guy Fawkes mask got a great deal of publicity from the “V for Vendetta” movie, and the Occupy Black Bloc has adopted this as their badge. They believe themselves to be “striking a blow agains fascism”, so tell me this was not a political act of deliberate disobedience and in the cause of terrorism.

Of course they attack the alleged “fascism” with more “fascism” of their own.
Funny thing, at one place I worked that was getting super PC liberal about the language used in business communiques, there was a studious effort to eschew the word “black” in any pejorative context, such as “black list,” because such usage might suggest a negative attitude towards black skinned people. So for OWS to have a “black bloc” that isn’t about racial issues is not only confusing, but flies in the face of what liberals say they are about.
