This movie is a STINKEROO!!! Qualifies in every way for the "so bad it's great" prize. Aliens are trying to take over Yokohama, and then the world! But a mousy teacher takes on the identity of a TV superhero and the rest is history. Very funny, very entertaining, and very easy to criticize the logic and especially the possibility of some of the things that happen. All of these things combined and enmeshed make up a stinkeroo. ★★★★
"Broken Embraces" with Penélope Cruz, Lluís Homar, Blanca Portillo, Jose Luis Gomez, Rubén Ochandiano, Tamar Novas, Ángela Molina, Chus Lampreave, Kiti Manver, Lola Dueñas
A movie director loses his sight and decides to change his name and become a writer instead. Through a series of flashbacks we see his work on his last movie, the woman he loved and lost, and his betrayal by his closest friends and colleagues. It's an excellent star-crossed lovers story, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. ★★★★
