Police have evacuated the area surrounding the apartment of the man suspected of shooting dead at least 12 people and wounding 50 others during a late-night screening of the new Batman movie as they reveal his home is booby-trapped.
James Holmes, 24, told officers he had explosives stored at his apartment when he was arrested after opening fire at random at the mall in Aurora, Colorado.
Police said they were forced to evacuate Holmes' apartment block, situated four miles from the scene of the horrific crime in North Aurora, and five surrounding buildings.

Oates says pictures from inside the apartment are fairly disturbing and the devices look to be sophisticated.

Could he have taken out student loans for next year, quit his PhD program and then applied those Obama bucks to the guns instead? I doubt he intends to pay back any loans he has.
Speaking of ‘partying’, something new I just learned is that the residents in the apartment below reporting that exactly at midnight techno music began blaring from the apartment and shut off at exactly 1am. I just don’t understand why he ‘warned’ the police about the apartment when he clearly had taken the time to try and draw attention to it, hoping it would be entered.
I agree. It’s not adding up. As I just posted, also, why did he give the police the heads up about his apartment after taking so much time to booby trap it and schedule loud music to play from 12 - 1. He was protected with gear from head to toe, yet didn’t resist arrest? Makes no sense to me. I don’t even understand why he bothered to fire the warning shot at the ceiling?
“And I looked, and beheld a pale horse with a pale rider:
and his name that sat on him was Death,
and Hell followed with him.”
No. He looks to be too much of a sissy to be Death.
That is a very good question.
I think he set up an alibi just in case he didn’t get caught - like neighbors saying I heard music playing in his apt.
bump
Just saw the movie.
It is not complementary to the Anarchists or to OWS types.
Oh I didnt forget about that.
That is why I thought that the Occupy group should be on FBI watch list.
Wow, really? So this meticulously planned operation was so evil and devious that he knew exactly WHEN a bunch of air force academy cadets would be at a movie??? Wow...
Occupukes in Denver - one guy, there was an article about him on FR, committed arson and caused a huge amount of damage to one apartment building. In WA state one or more of them committed arson as well. What to speak of what they did in Oakland.
see answer 22, read much?

Really?
The kid was obviously pretty smart, Phi Beta Kappa undergrad in neuroscience.
It's not like he build a large Hadron collider in his apartment
I'd guess any of the schemes he put in that apartment are readily detailed on the internet.
I saw an FBI profiler (retired) on Fox who speculated he only wanted to take out law enforcement via the bombs if he was killed at the theater.
After capture, he actually warned the LEOs about them.
I read plenty. I’ve still seen zero evidence that he set up this whole operation to target Air Force Academy cadets. This theater is nowhere near the AFA. If AFA cadets were wounded, it was random.
