No worries, FRiend, I do not take that as a slap-down.
My own response to that situation would have depended on who I was with, proximity to shooter, and tools on hand.
The whole thing happened so quickly and was so chaotic.
But, yes, we are on the same team. If my body was a shield/distraction so someone could get close enough to neutralize the threat, then so be it. And yes, my knife would be trying to find his carotid, or better yet, the base of his skull so I wouldn’t have to wait for him to bleed out.
