To: Leaning Right
It's a big part, my FRiend. Video games reward players for violent action. Rap music glorifies violent action. Depraved behavior is presented as normal, even admirable.

Most folks exposed to these things will not be adversely affected. But a small minority will.

OK - so now please provide evidence of the video games Holmes played & the music he listened to.

Or maybe he was made nuts via osmosis...the video games & music other people enjoy. Yeah, that's it!

Who knows exactly what set this particular person off? Perhaps it had nothing to do with the society we live in. Time will tell.

My previous remarks were of a general nature, about a society as a whole. And I do have evidence of that. As I said before, consider Germany of the 1930's.

And consider another example: today's America. Many folks are getting the message that it's OK to let the government take care of you. Go ahead, apply for food stamps, apply for all sorts of assistance. At one time that was considered shameful, even when necessary.

So if you actually think that repetitive messages have no real effect on people, then I guess we'll have to agree to disagree.
