Just saw on he NEWS tonight that Penneys is going to get rid of their cashiers and registers.
They will be going to some sort of self checkout.
They expect the change to be complete by 2014.
They just can't seem to stop shooting themselves in thee foot.
And I liked shopping for clothes there.
Cashiers are sometimes the only client contact a Purchaser has! And most Cashiers are being Paid $10 dollars an hour or less! They make sure every item is rung up, bag the items, deal with cash vereses credit and handle all returns with Smiles and Live a Life of Hades with horrible people sometimes! The Cashier is THE MOST IMPORTANT FACE OF ANY RETAILER!
