Germans laugh at 'Olympic disaster' as top magazine brands 2012 Games 'one big, soggy mess'

They have a reputation for faultless efficiency and planning events with meticulous detail. So perhaps we should be worried that Germans already believe London 2012 will be an 'Olympic-sized disaster'. Germany's leading news magazine has launched an attack on Britain’s preparations for the Olympics, poking fun at facilities and warning that the Games are destined to go down in history as a gigantic 'soggy mess'.

What pathetic ignorance. Are Americans so stupid as to think that Britain is wet all the time?. Bet you think London gets fog every day too.

How ironic, because as I post this reply, it is warm at 10.30pm, and today throughout much of Britain it was very warm.

You can't fool us Americans. We know that London is dank, dark, foggy and rainy most all of the time. It's in all the literature after all.

However, for visiting tourists, it's part of the charm of visiting Great Britain. All that gloomy weather puts one in the mood for visiting one of England's thousands of pubs where one can have a pint or two of ale along with a plate of England's staple meal of fish and chips.
