Obama in a second term would be Barack, Unplugged (or maybe Barack, Unhinged). He understands the power of the Second Amendment and certainly knows the reason for it: it serves as the citizens' last line of defense against an out-of-control government. In that respect and in so many others: Romney's perpetual squishiness make me nervous, but Obama's cold-eyed intentionality chills me to the bone.
Regardless of whether you can bring yourself to vote for Romney, I'd urge everyone to vote for true conservatives down-ballot so that Congress will never capitulate to either one.

"Every now and then, President Obama pierces the veil. Hes usually pretty coy about his ideology, but he lets the veil slip from time to time."I don't understand why people can't see that. It's obvious, I think.
But, beyond all that, beyond all the tactical calculations, I just cannot vote again for another liberal from Karl Rove Productions. No matter what Romney now tries so hard to conceal, he represents evil to us because we know him. We've known Romney for a long, long time.

Oh, was that the Dennis Quaid Doc Holliday when he lost 40 pounds for the role? That was a great movie. No, wait. That was Wyatt Earp.
Val Kilmer was great in Tombstone, and as Wyatt Earp in “Wyatt Earp’s Revenge,” which was weird because Kilmer’s part was very professionally done, but the flashbacks were terrible. Their continuity technician must have been an illegal Ukranian alien who didn’t speak English.
Hubby and I still liked it though.

Christianity is theologically black and white, or at least the kind that uses the bible as its chief reference and argument settler. That’s a separate issue from social mores, a place where I’m not even going. As I mentioned, there is little room in Christian theology for “this person was worshiping a genuine God, but in confusion and error,” unless that person is a relatively new Christian, or a special case like the Greeks who actually did create a monument “To An Unknown God” (the back story is that this was indeed in reference to an event brought about by prayer to the God of the Jews). Mormonism is theologically frowned upon in Christian circles due to its accretion of extrabiblical bogosities through Joseph Smith. It’s commonly held in Christian circles, and I believe it is for good reason, that Smith’s revelations weren’t confused divine ones; they were devilish.

Sorry, I misquoted you in my last post.
What you said was, "If the Congress is Republican, it will be easier to stop Obama than Romney."
And, I agree with you.

>”Could it be because your fear is exaggerated?”<
Fear is kind of a strong word. I have no personal fear, although it appears that I have many other FReepers here who appear to hate me for my opinions.
It comes with the turf I guess.
I fear for our Nation. I will not be alive long enough to suffer the inevitable consequences if Obama and his Sycophants are allowed to continue their rule, but I guess that fear could be exaggerated. I'll give that some thought.

“If we couldn’t get a Conservative Candidate this time around after the mess that is Obama, it will never happen.”
You are correct. I’m prepared to take care of my life needs no matter what happens. That is control I can have. Whatever happens to the country is in God’s hands. Due to my Christian belief, I can’t vote for Romney but I’m in Texas and he will get Texas, just not with my vote.

Congress, what’s that? Obama will abolish it by EO. His SC justices will uphold the action.

We are in opposite situations.
I'm in CA and if I Vote for Romney it won't make any difference either.
Which makes me wonder why I even bother to get involved in these Threads. I swore off them last week and I find myself drawn back like a Moth to a Flame.
The genuine hatred of the ABO contingent here is getting crazy, but I'm sure people who are ABR feel the same way. I will stick to my side of the equation simply because there is no way I can see another four years of Obama’s destruction being allowed to come to fruition.
I certainly hope that Obama doesn't take Texas, which he considers a Battleground State BTW, by one Vote. LOL
Have a wonderful evening. I hope you don't take my comments as inciting an argument because I have warned by others here that they are “monitoring” my Posts. I'm sure Eric Holder and Chuckie Schumer would be proud.
If I may, a question. I am / was a Newt Supporter and I recall many here complaining about his “personal baggage” being a hindrance in their support for him. Now that we have Romney as the Republican Candidate, would these same people be supportive of Newt if he was our Nominee?

What bizzaro world do you live in? Obamacare was fashioned after Romneycare. Romneys words are hollow and counter to what he has done in the past. Only naïve, gullible, followers of the crowd will vote for Romney. Sheeple who can be led down the road to socialism will fall in behind him unaware that they are being led to slavery.
To: Jim Robinson; All
This is an excellent thread Jim, and I stand with you 100 percent.
The fact is, the entire electoral process has been corrupted and turned into a charade, 0bama is a Communist pig that isn't even eligible to be IN the White House (unless it was as a janitor emptying trash cans), Romney is a Socialist pig that believes in the same basic things 0bama does, which is never ending expansion of the federal leviathan, increased controls and restrictions over our freedoms and civil liberties, permitting and/or promoting the perverted life styles of the most depraved in our society.
Neither one of those clowns will do a damn thing to limit, let alone reduce the size of the federal government. They will both continue to allow the fascist Department of Homeland Security and their sock puppet/blue shirts over at the TSA to run rampant and trample our freedoms enumerated in the Bill of Rights. To 0bama, the Constitution is indeed, no better than toilet paper. To Romney, the Constitution is like a fine silk handkerchief, carried in the pocket, folded nicely, but still used to blow his freakin' nose in, when the notion strikes him.
IF Romney is elected, we will see perhaps a slight reduction in velocity as America heads for the edge of the cliff, from 0bama's wild 110 mph, down to a thrifty 55 mph, but we will still be headed for the damn cliff!
And as we serenely survey the landscape as we enjoy that 55 mph ride to the same oblivion 0bama is taking us to, many Americans will be lulled into a false sense of restored 'security', thinking that everything is going to be ok, that Romney and his crew will make everything right again, and America lives happily ever after, to which I say BULLSH*T!!!
After what 0bama has pulled over the past 4 years, Romney will be able to get away with damn near anything, as long as it doesn't appear quite as extreme as what the Kenyan douchebag did. And Romney will have a complacent Congress that will mostly rubber stamp whatever he proposes, why? Because the RINOs know he is "one of their own", and the 'Rats know that Romney is damn near as liberal as they are, and that they have more in common than they differ on.
Now having said all that about a hypothetical Romney win, what happens if 0bama is re-elected?
Contrary to the fearmongers and hand wringers among us, it would NOT mean the end of America, it would NOT mean that we would sink into totalitarian darkness, although it is more than likely that an 0bamunist second term would certainly TRY to enact absolute federal control and shut down the Bill of Rights due to some contrived 'national emergency'.
But here is where I want to be extremely measured in what I say next:
Let 'em try it.
I know that FReepers and true patriots across this Land will agree with me, that we do not, and WILL not take any preemptive or violent action towards the federal despots in Washington, like you yourself have said in the past Jim, we do NOT advocate the violent overthrow of the United States Government. We are a Nation of Laws, we agree on the necessity to obey the Laws.
However: when (not a question of 'if' but when) the illegitimate 0bama regime overreaches, and they WILL overreach just like every tyranny eventually does, We The People will NOT roll over.
We will see in a second 0bama term, a 'moment' (or a series of 'moments') when the fascists currently in control will take measures that are so brazen, so absolutely outrageous and illegal, that the American people will respond in the only way they know how, as clearly defined by Thomas Jefferson in his wise words about the Tree of Liberty, and how it must be watered from time to time.
There WILL be armed conflict, not initiated or provoked by the American people, but begun by the power mad maniacs led by Comrade 0bama who believe it is their destiny to destroy this great Republic, and replace it with a communist/socialist system in which the individual is minimized, and the power of the State is maximized.
They will fail. We The People will prevail.
To employ an analogy: with a Romney election, America will continue to suffer from the rot of the internal cancer that began many years ago, our Republic will become further weakened and enfeebled, our national strength, morality and vitality will dwindle until we are just another Euro-style weenie nation constantly on the edge of bankruptcy, continuously taxing and imposing ever greater 'fees' and charges upon the populace until we are all dependent on the government teat just to barely survive.
However if 0bama is re-elected, it will not be cancer that saps our life away over time, it will be more like flesh eating disease, which begins to devour and consume us rapidly, because like any dictatorship, there is nothing subtle about them, we will feel the effects immediately, and it will be impossible to ignore, and Americans, REAL Americans will unite to rid ourselves of that life threatening infection. It would be my hope that within our United States Armed Forces, that there will be more than a few dedicated officers who take their Oath to uphold the Constitution to be the greater obligation as opposed to obeying the orders of a corrupt thug and the goons who support him.
0bama vs Romney?
It's a choice between being shot between the eyes with a .44 or a .22. Either way, you're probably going to end up dead.
I'm not going to play their game. Let them do whatever the Hell they think they can get away with. When those jackboots come after me, I'll be ready to demonstrate exactly what the Second Amendment is all about.
And no, that is not a threat, not at all.
That is a .

There are those here who understand the Republican Primaries are over and we are down to two Presidential Candidates vying for the Office. They consider themselves Realists. The Realists look at the situation in very simple terms, Obama must not win Reelection. If Romney is the alternative to Obama, which it appears he will be, he is the only avenue left to avoid four more years of the Obama invented Train Wreck we are experiencing on a daily basis.
If you actually consider yourself a realist, and truly understand the Cook County machine that has gone national, you would not be putting so much blind faith and hope in an election for the Executive that Conservatives have already lost.
We are already become a shell of what we once were as a nation, and that is due to the willingness of a religious and moral people to get along with and compromise biblical principles (and Constitutional ones too) with expedience and pragmatism for political assuagement.
In short, the church and the religious bought a lie - not to judge. That lie ultimately also transcends itself into refusing to acknowledge the truth in favor of smooth and easy things. To rest in what is comfortable and familiar. That nothing bad can happen because we're of God.
So we lost it, having it stolen and taken away right under our noses under the auspices of safety, compassion and fairness which the religious have traded for our once jealously guarded foundational principles.
It's how a once moral people can buy as virtue - the practice of choosing the lesser of two or more evils. Or better put, how a former Republic can espouse the virtues of choosing a Socialist rather than a MarxoFascist. Ultimately, they both lead to the same place, and principles have been discarded.
Oh, this is exactly how we lost the culture by the way. The fruits of this kind of reasoning and insistence in choosing less than what we should because that is what is served to us - is how we got into this mess to begin with.

When we held our noses and voted for McCain in 2008, Karl Rove and company rewarded us in 2012 with Mitt Romney.
If we hold our noses and vote for Romney in 2012, Karl Rove and company will be justified in rewarding us with anyone in 2016. Maybe next time, he'll convince Jesse Jackson, Jr. or Maxine Waters to run as a Republican so he can make "inroads" with "ethnic" voters. If we hold our noses and vote for Romney, we will deserve anything we get.
