I responded to dog breath comment 6 that might help you. The thought is Satan would not want obnoxious worshipers. Satan does a very effective job by entering the religions that purport to represent God and introduce error and make God look bad. Satan is at war with God and man is perfectly able to commit evil without the aid of Satan.
