You got that right. Call their bluff and campaign on the issue to win the Senate. Then in January, roll back the taxes making the rollback effective January 1, and make the Bush tax cuts permanent so as to eliminate this threat each legislative session.

Republicans need to stand up for principles and call the Democrat’s bluff. Democrats count on Republicans being weak. Problem is that these automatic cuts, based on a supercommittee fail, were McConnell's grand bargain with his buddy Reid. It was the plan all along.
