That’s a pretty weak ad. They shouldn’t have bothered with Schieffer after the opening & instead prominently displayed the WaPo headlines showing them to be telling lies with a voice-over reading the headlines.
People don’t much like negative ads, but they listen to them. People need to hear that they are FALSE, not just negative. Folks like that even less.

RNC, if you’re reading this, here’s a slightly more effective ad idea: make a simple montage of Barry repeatedly saying “The private sector is doing fine.” while image after image of commercial buildings with overgrown weeds/grass and For Lease/Rent signs in front of them scroll by. To really reach the people, display the actual city/neighborhood name where each abandoned building is located. Make a series of these commercials to include more cities and neighborhoods.
