To me, the uninformed Republican voters gave us Romney, and Newton Gingrich played easily into that scenario, particularly in AZ, MI, and OH.

I agree with you there. Sad to say this about Republicans. Romney’s people sure did gloss over his issues which Obama team are exploiting.

Newt's problem is he plays political adviser on TV on Fox and other networks. Even while he was still in the primaries he would honestly talk about what each candidate needed to do to win the primary. And from what I've been hearing out of Wolfeboro the Romney campaign used Newt's political advice which he generously offered on the networks.
