Sadness....
Buying a new one is prolly just as cheap as getting a new barrel, and having the old one pressed out and the new one pressed in.

Ouch! I was kind of wondering about that. But I figured you would have looked down the barrel to see if it was clear.

You can’t just replace the barrel?

What kind of ammo where you using?

The barrel is pressed into the frame.
That is what makes it so accurate.
When the barrel went it could have damaged the frame.

Yes, I definitely looked down the barrel. But I wasn’t particularly looking for a bulge. At a glance you really didn’t notice it. However, when my smith put an LED cluster light down the barrel it was quite obvious.

I was focusing on the slide rails, etc.

I was shooting Silver Bear 94 grain bimetal hollow points. It’s a very common round and my CZ has eaten tons of it in the past without any problems.

We were at an indoor range with other shooters on each side of us. I was also wearing ear muffs. I guess that may be why I didn’t hear or notice anything unusual.

Now that you mention it, I should probably toss the last box of that ammo just in case it was a bad lot.

So one round got stuck in the barrel, but the next shot pushed it out? I wonder how far down range they went?

I hate to say it but I have had trouble with Silver bears QC.
It was just once, but they put a 5.56 bullet on a 5.45x39 case.

It resulted in a bullet lodged in my barrel.
When I smacked the charging handle on a table the shell extracted, but left the 5.56 bullet up the chamber

Thank God it or the one after it never fired, because the breech never closed.

I sent the whole case back to Russia.

That is the only time I ever had an issue with silver bear.

Yep, that’s what happened.

This indoor range is pretty short. I’d say the maximum distance to the back is around 40 feet.

Silver Bear is kind of dirty ammo. When I shoot hollow points, it is not unusual to see powder sparks coming out of the muzzle so if the round(s) went errant I really didn’t notice it.

That was my only bad experience wit Silver Bear.

I figure com block guns should eat it just fine.
But they mixed in a NATO round.
