According to possible new TSA rules, air travelers may be compelled to "freeze" when ordered to by screeners.
The federal safety agency has yet to comment on this policy, but an airline passenger claimed agents recently practiced a drill on his wife.
"We heard a "freeze, freeze" or something like this coming from the output side of security (where my wife was), followed by further barking of commands," the man said.
"It turns out they were doing a new drill. They want all passengers to freeze on command. My wife told me later that she didn't follow this order fast enough, so the subsequent barks I heard were directed at her," he added.
Now, this anecdote has not been confirmed by the safety agency, so it should remain in the rumor zone at this point. But, considering all the crazy TSA rules, would anyone be surprised if it were true?
Could you have imagined, a decade ago, that you would be forced to submit to naked imaging just to get on an airplane? Or that young children would be groped by strangers in uniforms?

There is no compelling evidence these absurd TSA rules do anything to thwart terrorism. Just recently, the agency announced that screeners now have the right to test beverages purchased by travelers, even after the people have gone through security. How much more of this can people take?
Indeed. I would not be surprised if these are test cases to see if the public will accept them.
“A polite Nazi SS officer is STILL a Nazi SS officer... they ALL need to go!”
I completely agree. I’m just pointing out how their procedures differ when it suits them. It’s all Kabuki Theater.
I hope they don’t mind that due to carpal tunnel and also nerve and tendon impingment in my elbos and shoulders that when I have to ‘Freeze’ and stay still my medical conditions tend to cause the middle finger of both hands to involuntarily ‘freeze’ in the extended position.
“The Feds are a bigger threat to these United States than any group of 7th century ragheads”
Here’s the deal. At every moment in time, between about 6 a.m. and 11 p.m., tens of thousands of Americans are standing helpless, having been relieved of their IDs, money, credit cards, cell phones, computers, keys, coats, and shoes. They only have the clothes on their backs and are clutching boarding passes. That’s it.
They’re at the total mercy of US Federales with double-digit IQs on power trips with histories of theft and abuse.
The process could be as short as 30 seconds. For some who are pulled aside for shakedowns, it’s longer. I’m always pulled aside because of an artificial joint and have waited as long as 15 minutes for a female (probably lesbian) agent to appear and feel me up. Being separated from your important “stuff” is a scary, vulnerable feeling.
I watched a Documentary the other day called Zeitgeist
Now parts of it are waaaaay out there but some of it is very alarming especially when it gets around to talking about controlling the public and funneling them into behavior by means of constant fear. (Terrorist, global warming. financial collapse, etc.)
