I have a pocket Constitution that I purchased from the CATO institute, that is enough to be classified as a potential terror suspect in todays world.

Something that every child should know and at least memorize the beginning of the Declaration of Independence and the Bill Of Rights, in my mind.

But in today’s world, you are suspected as a ‘right wing terrorist’ for thinking things like that. So be it - screw them and bury me with my pocket constitution if you hate it that much. It is just so insane that we have to be in fear of the document that gives us (and the world at large) everything.

A correction - WE are not fear of it, but the government is - wasn’t that the whole point for writing it the way they did?

If US Presidents got 3 terms. I could easily see America transformed enough by a 2nd Obama term that he would actually be running against the US Constitution for his third term.

I can hear it now:

"The republicans make no secret about it," Obama would say running for his third term. "They want to go back to the day when a two hundred fifty year old out-of date piece of paper written by a bunch of slave-owners is consulted before anything in america can move forward."

"Their philosophy is simple: if it's not on the paper then you are on your own. If you're a Latino who just happens to be on the wrong side of the border without documentation, tough luck. You don't get to vote" Obama would say. "You don't have health care, you're on your own and if you're living in Europe, Africa or South America where your economy is directly influenced by what goes on here in the united states. Too Bad. They'll tell you that you have no say who leads this nation. They'll just tell you there in Germany or Greece that if it's not in their outdated manual, you have no right to vote!"
