I am so sorry that I didn’t make it back sooner.
My sister’s best friend, Al, called me and said that she has been committed to a home for people with senile dementia in Southern California.
He said that she has been having memory and confusion problems for several months now, and her son is taking advantage of that.
He is beside himself because he loves her so much, and there is nothing he can legally do about it because my sister has given her son power of attorney and accounting of her assets. But her son, my nephew, is a snake.
I literally spent the afternoon until the battery almost died on my phone talking and (mostly) listening to Al, who is a lovely man, and deserves better from my nephew than to be shut out of my sister’s life.
At least he has her two dogs, Wyatt and Belle. They’re Jack Russells, and he has every intention of caring for them permanently. He is afraid that my nephew will send them to the pound, and he has cause for that worry. They are quite elderly, but in good health.
At any rate, it’s time for Saturday night with the Netflix movies, so I really fell down on the job today.
