How did the people of Sodom and Gomorrah feel before they went so evil??

Probably smugly self-justified, just as we are becoming today. They didn't start at the extreme end of the spectrum. First they refused to worship and honor God. Then they gave themselves over to wickedness. The He "gave them over".

I firmly believe the length of time from that moment to the bitter end was, and is, a testament to God's mercy, longsuffering, love and grace. He doesn't just blow a rebellious people off the map lightly (their sin has to "come up before" Him).

But at some point of His choosing He does so "with none to rescue".

Avernir, you're 100% right when you that today's homosexual-enablers didn't start at the extreme end of the spectrum. They got there gradually, and smugly self-justified, because now 90% of the heterosexuals are OK with practicing unnatural sex, themselves.

That's because you can add contraception to the list of unnatural acts which subvert normal male-female relations.

There is plenty of sex in the Bible, but in NO case is a sexual act ever condemned if it is marital and in the procreative form; and in NO case is it ever blessed if it is nonmarital or intentionally twisted away from procreation.

Like Homosexual acts, contraceptive acts assume that the way God made male and female, complete in every detail, is totally malleable if not a defect in design. In a way that the gender activists could appreciate, contraceptive sex "decenters heteronormativity" and "subverts the paradigm" --- far more than homosexuality does.

Few see this.
