Free Republic does not have a section dedicated to nothing but denigrating another forum, it's posters, the owner and salivating for it's demise. I'd say there's quite a difference.
The whole ‘ABO’ thing comes down to this.
1: Do you consider yourself a conservative?
2: Can one vote for a liberal and remain a conservative?

I would prefer a Romney presidency over an 0bama presidency. The reason is that if 0bama is elected for another four years, given the last 31/2, our country may not survive.
I may have to do something about it. What, you may ask? Put it this way. I took an oath many years ago when I entered the U. S. Army. I take that oath very seriously. Oaths are forever. So, I may have to take up arms against my country. That I do not want to do. It will be very ugly for me, my family, and many other people.

Entertaining in a Will Smith & Tommy Lee Jones movie sort of way. As fiction, that kind of stuff is fun escapism. When you think that there are people who really obsess and think that way, it is pretty sad actually.
When I was involved in a horrible accident that killed two FReeper FRiends, Quix held me up in prayer immediately, and has prayed for my recovery for months. Most of the posts on this thread sadden me greatly.

What I like or not does not matter. I respect your decision though I think it’s a bad one. But that has nothing at all to do with conservative anything. Romney is a liberal. That cannot be seriously denied. A person voting for a liberal, regardless of the reason, is still casting their vote, and by doing so, giving active support with intent to elect him.
That can in no logical way be defined as a conservative thing to do.

He was always nice to me. I'm sorry things have turned out like this.
I always thought some of his stuff was way "out there," but I didn't feel the need to argue with him about it. Lots of conservatives are into the Illuminati/NWO conspiracy theories (I was a member of the John Birch Society for four years), but the space alien stuff was really bizarre. Though, to be honest, for someone with certain assumptions and unbending logic, it's easy to see that it would lead there. I used to be very dualistic in my own religious beliefs myself. But for a conspiracy theorist to support Mitt Romney makes absolutely no sense.
There were (and are) other FReepers I found much more annoying (like Jedediah and his poetry), but I never posted ridicule of him on the threads he started. I just clicked on them, read his "prophecies," and shook my head.
To ease his mind, he won’t be invited back.
Again, I'm sad that things have turned out like this. Even when I reminded him of the vast gulf between our religious beliefs he was always nice to and supportive of me. I hope I never repaid his kindness with cruelty.
So that's where the phoney deacon ended up at.
