Tell you what Yam. You explain to me how a conservative can vote for Romney without abandoning his conservative beliefs to do so and I vow right here and now to campaign HARD for Mitt Romney on FR and everywhere else.

Further, I’ll apologize to everyone here, state I was wrong and help you get a liberal elected to the highest office in the land.

With a smile.

Deal?

This is an open invitation to you, Levin, Laura any freeper and anyone else on the planet.

You want him elected so bad? Then answer that one question honestly and factually and without resorting to “The other guy is worse” and I will devote myself to helping you.

My estimation is that your offer is utterly insincere.

Thus, no deal.

Norm, it's perfectly legitimate for a Freeper or anyone else to say calmly "Honestly, Mitt Romney is too liberal for me. I can't see myself voting for him".

I myself said the same thing in 2008 re: McQueeg.

It's another thing entirely to sell out to shrieking, raving Romney Derangement Syndrome as some Freepers (not you) have done. They make this board look like a bunch of whingeing four year olds.

“explain to me how a conservative can vote for Romney without abandoning his conservative beliefs”

It’s easy. Just vote for Romney and don’t abandon your beliefs.

This drama that some of you keep pushing is typical of liberals so I always have to wonder if you are sincere or not.

But the bottom line is this: candidates are never perfect. My opinion of Romney is that while not perfect he’s probably more conservative than GWB. I just don’t see him offering amnesty to illegals but I could be wrong.

This is a very easy choice to make in my opinion so I always tend to think that the concern trolls are Obama infiltrators. In most cases I’m probably right but maybe not always.

First time poster, long time lurker.

A man points a gun at your head, says I can either pull this trigger (Obama), or beat the crap out of you (Romney). He says if you sass him and choose something smart, you’ll get plugged regardless (a vote for 3rd party conservative strengthens Obama’s odds). In this real life application of our ploitical quandry, its apprent that anyone not up for winning a Darwin award would choose the thrashing over the gunshot to the head.. so the question is why do so many on here want the bullet, why do you feeling the bullet is better than the thrashing?

Simple. This staunch conservative will always vote for the most conservative candidate, in this case my last choice nominee, Romney. Anything else at this juncture is an active vote for Bama

How would you vote if you were in my district in Ma.?
Scott Brown vs. Elizabeth Warren. (Senator)
Brown makes me vomit but Warren is miles to the left of Obama, and Brown will vote to repeal Obamacare.

Richard Tisei vs. John Tierney ( U.S. House)
Tisei is a gay republican with all the baggage but miles more financially prudent than Tieney who is a rubber stamp for Obama. Tisei will vote to repeal Obamacare. Tierney will not.

Romney vs. Obama.

So there you have it. 3 potential votes to at the very least to overturn Obamacare. Would you leave them all blank?
For if you vote for any one of them it would seem that you have answered your question and it may be time to get the Romney sign.

This is an open invitation to you, Levin, Laura any freeper and anyone else on the planet.

Challenge accepted.
First we need definitions:
Conservative

  1. disposed to preserve existing conditions, institutions, etc., or to restore traditional ones, and to limit change.
  2. cautiously moderate or purposefully low: a conservative estimate.
  3. traditional in style or manner; avoiding novelty or showiness: conservative suit.
  4. (often initial capital letter) of or pertaining to the Conservative party.
  5. (initial capital letter) of, pertaining to, or characteristic of Conservative Jews or Conservative Judaism.
So then, to be a conservative we want to keep things the same.
Obama Romney

Marxist Fabian
Socialist Socialist
  \ /
   \ /
    \ /
     \ /
      \ /
       \ /
        IMPLEMENTS
         SOCIALISM
As we can see from the above flow-chart, the result of voting for Romney is the same as voting for Obama, therefore preserving the status quo, and therefore being fully in line with keeping things the way they are.

The above was meant as tongue-in-cheek sarcasm.
