Griffith was a total communist and hated this country. He was a bitter resentful person as Libs usually are.

From everything I have read about him he treated his fans like total shiiiiite when asking for autographs etc...he was not the kind, old gentleman that was portrayed on screen.

I had heard noises about that too (how he treated fans), but I am not sure if that it true or not. I don’t run into celebrities in my “normal” life :)

A friend of mine used to be one of his neighbors and told me that he had a really nasty disposition. Between that and his shilling for Obamacare makes me think that A Face in the Crowd was somewhat autobiographical.
