Iranians Help Hezbollah Build Tunnels In Lebanon

Hezbollah has upgraded its network of tunnels in southern Lebanon to secure itself against airstrikes in a future war with Israel, according to a report by a Lebanese newspaper on Monday.

Al-Joumhouria said its source was a diplomatic report issued by an unspecified European embassy, which it said contained information from “a number of Western security agencies.”

ording to Al-Joumhouria, the tunnels are equipped with dormitories, medical facilities, kitchens, toilets, water and heating systems that allow dozens of terrorists to live underground for weeks at a time.

report added that Hezbollah had purchased large tracts of land years ago in the Hermel region near the Syrian border, and had drilled tunnels though the mountains of the Beqaa region, reaching deep into Syrian territory.

You can imagine the materials being moved from Iran, through Syria, and into Lebanon. May these tunnels also be the final resting place for these rats.

Israel should fill them with water...or better yet, sneak up to Syria and steal back some of Saddam’s WMD poison gas.

As I recall, when Israel invaded Lebanon in 1982, they discovered many such tunnels stocked with enough Soviet small arms and ammunition to play Armageddon.

There are hundreds of thousands of miles of irrigation tunnels and covered channels throughout Iran and other places in the Middle East. They are called QANAT

The residents have been building them for thousands of years.

It really isn't news when they build a new tunnel ~ you really have to assume they already have the one they want, and have had it for decades. Yet, tunnels fall in, get funky, water flow changes, all sorts of stuff so they need replaced or duplicated.

There are vast numbers of people in that region who literally live in holes in the ground.
