One should not accept a job that they cannot handle.

The lady could handle the job of being a bus monitor, not better than she could handle the job of being a brain surgeon.

Was she supposed to make up her own “job” rules? School administrations today are notorious for disempowering the adults. She was a figurehead, designed to be such by her employers. If she was at any fault, it was for being old fashioned enough to believe that just being there as a grownup with the kids would get them to behave themselves.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

One should not accept a job with conditions that make doing the job impossible. And.... Some jobs are simply evil.

So....I have NO NO NO sympathy for teachers who complain:

—” The administration makes me pass failing students on to the next grade.”

—” The administration forces us to have a godless classroom and forces us to make the students think and reason godlessly.”

—” The administration makes us give gay literature books to the students.”

—” The administration won't let us teach about the Founding Fathers.”

—”The administration won't let us have an American flag in the classroom.”

—The administration makes me take the students to the yearly gay-perversion day long school festival.

— The administration won't let us say the Pledge of Allegiance”

—’The administration won't let us discipline the students.”
