Not A Tax Increase? Video ad
A conservative advocacy group closely aligned with the Tea Party announced a $9 million swing-state push against President Obama and the healthcare law.
The announcement by Americans for Prosperity (AFP), which is largely funded by the conservative Koch brothers, comes one day after the Supreme Court ruled to uphold the vast majority of the law in a major coup for Obama.
"While we are deeply disappointed in the Supreme Court ruling," AFP President Tim Phillips said in a statement, "this is far from over."
The group's push is worth $9 million, according to a release. It includes a television ad buy as well as grassroots and online efforts against the law, though the division of spending between the different efforts was not made clear.
Targeted states include Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Wisconsin all expected to be hotly contested in November's presidential election. Blue states Minnesota and New Mexico were also on the list.
The television ad calls the health law "one of the largest tax increases in history" a refrain expected to form the foundation of GOP arguments against the law as the election draws near.
"Shouldn't President Obama's priorities have been creating jobs and ending reckless spending?" the ad's narrator says.
It would be great if one of you could send a link to you tube if it becomes available so we in the blue states like Michigan can play it for the libtards we know. This state is much closer (within margin of error) than is being reported.
This is very much needed to counter the pro dumbocare ads.
God bless them.
That link is to a you tube video.
Wow, I got so engrossed in reading the article that i totally missed the link. This getting old sucks. Thanks.
I noticed that Michigan was not on the list of targeted states.
Dare to dream, Michigan, dare to dream!
LOL! I know the feeling of old too. :)
mitt or obie will ensure that the mandate’s repeal is Koch-blocked.
All I can tell you is the Reagan Democrats seemed to be fired up this year. We shall see. It won’t be because of a lack of trying.
Thanks for the info.
I live in Nevada & had seen some ads by this group.
Nice to know who is behind them & how much I can believe in them.
Compared to Soros, Koch is a cheapskate.
After I watched the ad I thought...
"Hey Obama, you just got Koch-Slapped!"
I applaud the Koch brothers for their efforts to defeat Obama, but I want to caution my fellow social conservatives they are in favor of society promoting homosexual relationships and calling them “marriage”.
You have a mental problem.
I thought you should know.
very good! thanks
I think it’s weak.
Good to hear!
I lived in Ann Arbor in 1980 and I remember Polish-American UAW members campaigning for Ronaldus Maximus then. I was too young to understand what exactly was going on, but now understand the greatness of Reagan-Thatcher-Walesa-JPII and what this meant to the freedom-loving Sons of Poland living in Troy and Hamtramk.
I am really hoping that Barry's gay marriage yada-yada, contraceptives and abortifacients mandate yada-yada, illegal immigrant work permit amnesty yada-yada, topped with his "Polish Death Camp" gaffe and the Lech Walesa snub, will all have those same folks ready to kick the Kenyan to the curb.
I wonder if it is wise to get away from the US ECONOMY as being the number 1 campaign target.
The economy is in shambles and its a topic Obama and his people do not want to talk about. IMHO even with ObamaCare STILL being very unpopular...the Dems are happy to be able to talk about ANYTING other than the economy.
I think this is a mistake, unless they point out how ObamaCare is going to hurt the economy (taxes going up and buisness unable to afford the price and folding or cutting back)
My sense is that you don’t come up with an ad that can be quoted in 24 hours.
IOW, insiders knew this was coming down, otherwise the word “tax” wouldn’t be in the ad.
Does that matter? Not really, but it does bear repeating that we are outsiders even in (supposedly) our own group.
