It most certainly is.

But to most people, it will be a perfect storm when they realize that they are going to be dinged into buying gummit regulation healthcare, with all its rococo, uneconomic bells and whistles, via a line item on their 1040 forms. Obamacare had a vacation from politics. Now with Roberts’ clever little parsing (and the unconstitutional participation of Kagan) that vacation is over.

You have brought up something that is quite correct and something I didn’t think of in my immediate disappointment on the ruling. This whole thing has been exposed as a tax when Obama said it wasn’t. People somehow thought this was “free.” Obama is so arrogant he’s patting himself on the back right now but I think this will all come back to bite him. I would think that the young kids who voted for him for “free” healthcare are going to be in for a shock when they get taxed on it.
