Since this occurred in about the same time frame that O and Clinton were trying to force the Honduran government to return Zelaya to power, I can’t help but believe that Castaway had a foreign policy objective. Officially they were running guns to MS13 gangs but that doesn’t make sense; arming Zelaya’s partisans seems more likely to me. Running guns to MS13 was the first fall-back cover-story.
